PC #182: Drachenfels, Germany

Another topic I find interesting are myths and legends. Haha, I’m turning 21 in four days’ time and yet, I still believe in magic. *laughs*

Maria sent me this legendary card of the Drachenfels (Dragon’s Rock) located in the Siebengebirge mountain range near Bonn, Germany. My friend was able to visit the place when she was young. The card shows the ruin of Castle Drachenfels.

About the legend, it was said that the hero of the Nibelungenlied, Siegfried, killed a dragon living in a cave in the mountain, and then bathed in its blood to become invulnerable. And so the mountain was called the Dragon’s Rock (Drachenfels).

Thanks, Maria, for the card, the stamp, and the nice glittering butterfly stickers! 🙂
