Once there’s this Turkish guy who asked where Santa Claus came from. Well, Santa Claus came from Father Christmas, a symbolic figure which originated in Finland. 🙂
My friend Miia (mimmuska) sent this wonderful map card of Lapland, the largest and northernmost region of Finland. I am really learning a lot about these cold regions of Europe. As seen on the card, Lapland borders Sweden and Norway. The cultural region is also known as Sápmi, it stretches over Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.
I love Finnish stamps! Miia used a round-shaped one. Thanks, Miia! 🙂
