PC #229: Children’s Book Illustrations PHQ Lottery – Winnie the Pooh from the UK

Now I guess everybody knows Winnie the Pooh, your tubby little buddy all stuffed with fluff, your willy nilly silly ol bear! Oh, I’ve known Pooh since gradeschool, my dad bought this CD containing Pooh’s adventures with Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet, Kanga and Roo, and of course, Christopher Robin. Winnie the Pooh, or Pooh Bear, is a creation of A.A. Milne and was first introduced in 1926 in a book called.. Winnie the Pooh. *smiles* The book was followed by several others all for the enjoyment of children. Later, the Walt Disney Company adapted Winnie the Pooh. And here’s my favorite, favorite song from the series:

Lucy (Lucy156) from the UK hosted the Children’s Book Illustrations PHQ Postcard/s lottery to celebrate her becoming an auntie. Yay! And I’m very delighted to have won as a Runner Up. Many thanks, maraming salamat, Lucy! 🙂

As seen on the card, it is meant to celebrate the United Nation’s Year of the Child. The card is a reproduction of a stamp designed by Edward Hughes ARCA FSIAD issued  on the 18th of July, 1979. So here are the stamps:

I love books! And I love classic children’s literature. Some of my favorites are the Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, Black Beauty, David Copperfield, Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn (yeah, their adventures), A Journey to the Center of the Earth, etc. The list goes on and on. 🙂 I’m so happy my childhood is still deep within me. Thank you so much, Lucy! 🙂
