PC #254: Bali – Indonesia

This postcard came from my friend Sekar who is now happily engaged. 🙂 It features the sacred temple of the lake Goddess near Bedugul in the Balinese highlands. My friend wrote: “Bali is is located east of Java. It’s also called ‘the Island of Gods’ (Pulau Dewata) or ‘the Island of Thousand Temples (Pulau Seribu Pura). Bali is the most popular tourist destination in the country. Sometimes foreigners recognize Bali much better than Indonesia itself.”

I’m also more familiar with Bali than the rest of Indonesia. The temple in the middle of the lake is super interesting, isn’t it?

Oh wow, a round-shaped stamp commemorating the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games! The second stamp is a nice Greeting stamp. Thanks so much, Sekar!
