PC #281: Kagay-an Festival – The Philippines

My second card from the Philippines also shows one of the many, as in many, festivals here. I think we have a festival for every piece of our culture and product. The Kagay-an Festival is held in Cagayan de Oro in August to honor St. Augustine. It features the city’s growth and development, history, people and culture through float parades and street dancing. Colorful Philippines, we are! Salamat, Ms. Ruby! 😉

OMG! I love the Fernando Poe Jr (FPJ) stamps used. FPJ, also known as ‘Da King’, is a National Artist, movie and cultural icon. He never studied but went on to win many awards as actor and film director. He ran for presidency in 2004, lost, and died seven months after the election. Yey, thanks Ms Ruby! Pretty sticker too. 😉
