A nice map card of British Columbia from Katie (kitkat49). British Columbia is the westernmost province of Canada and it was Queen Victoria who named it in 1858. There were nice facts on the back of the card, like the area (952, 263 sq. kms.), population (3.5 million, wow), capital city (Victoria, like the queen), provincial flower (dogwood, haven’t seen one. hm.), provincial bird (Steller’s jay), and scenery (Awesome!, agree!).
Beautiful stamps used! Basically, they’re some highlights of the past year: a glittery Christmas stamp, one of the Royal Wedding Day, and one of the Year of the Rabbit.
And of the many flowers, here’s the chosen one–the dogwood.
