PC #456: Two singing children (M.I. Hummel) from Poland

Omg, what a cute card of two kids singing from the Hummel book. The card is a reproduction of Sr. Maria Inocencia Hummel’s drawing. Sister Maria’s art became popular in Germany and in Switzerland in the 1930’s, her art was mostly of pastoral children. Eventually, a German porcelain maker by the name of Goebel became interested in her art and turned the drawings into figurines. Lovely!

And oh, Sister Maria Hummel is a German Franciscan sister and artist, of course. The card was sent by Lidka (Lilian02) and she used two awesome stamps of Polish architecture:

The card reminds me so much of my dear UP Parish Choir. I miss singing with the choir so much! 😦
