PC #470: Wieskirche – Germany

This Church’s official name is Pilgrimage Church of the Scourged Saviour. It’s a beautiful rococo (late baroque style) church in Bavaria and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was completed in 1754 based on designs of brother Dominikus and Johann Baptist Zimmermann.

Mission begins in the heart. - Pope Benedict XVI (Wieskirche im Advent)

Beautiful stamps include “Für uns Kinder (For our children)”, a set of stamps of the said theme. The one used by my friend is a bear with a kid in its arms issued in 2010. Thanks to Doris ♥
