PC #373: Winter at the Thiessower port – Germany

It’ll be winter season soon for my European friends. And here’s a card from Friederike showing the Thiessower port during winter. My friend wrote she’ll surely miss the German winter as she’ll spend the next few months in Japan. How cool is that? Well, I guess I’ll still have a warm Christmas.

This picturesque card is from Kata (katamoi). I tried to find some nice info about the place.. but I found nothin’ in English. Anyways, my friend wrote that Finland is also agricultural, but they use lots of machinery to till the soil.

Yay, pretty stamp of the Moomins! Thanks to Kata ♥

PC #371: The Charles Church – Austria

Another nice card from Babsy. This is the Charles Church (Karlskirche) in Vienna, one of the most magnificent structures in the city. It was commissioned by the emperor in thanks for answered prayer and also to glorify the Habsburg Empire.

The Black Plague swept through Vienna in 1713, and Emperor Charles VI made a vow to build a church dedicated to his namesake, the Italian bishop St. Charles Borromeo, if the plague will left the city. His prayer was answered and the construction began in 1715 and ended in 1737.

PC #370: Seegrotte – Austria

Here’s the largest underground lake in Europe, the Seegrotte. It is situated in the village of Hinterbrühl not far from Vienna. The lake is an important historical site, used to be a mine where combat aircraft such as the world’s first jet fighter, the Heinkel He162, were constructed.

Stamps used include the Steinadler (Golden eagle), the Wörthersee Kärnten lake, and the EU-Präsidentschaft issued in 2006. Thanks to Babsy! ♥

PC #369: Rykestrasse in Prenzlauer Berg – Germany

Here’s another nice card from Lisa. It shows a street shop where you can buy postcards. I hope there are shops just like this here in PH. XD

Rykestrasse in Prenzlauer Berg

According to some sources, the biggest Jewish synagogue in Germany can be found in Rykestrasse, Prenzlauer Berg. Anyways, I have no idea how.. but Lisa seems to know what I like. Haha, aside from stamps, she now uses penguin stickers. I like penguins and I’m planning to do the penguin dance anytime soon. Haha! Thanks Lisa ♥

PC #368: Temporary Art Center on Schlossplatz Square – Germany

I can’t thank God enough for all the blessings. I just finished the Foundations training in my new job, and I did not just pass! I got the highest grade! The trainer said it was the first time ever that he encountered someone like me. Lol. 93.02 was my grade. Well, I’m looking forward to more successful days in the company. “All praises!” he said.

And yeah, this huge surprise, a mail from my friend Lisa, is very timely. She sent me a nice card of the Temporary Art Center on Schlossplatz Square in.. I think.. Berlin.

Temporare Kunsthalle auf dem Schlossplatz

Not only a card, Lisa sent as well lots of used stamps! And I enjoyed them a lot!

Nice envelope used. Thank you so much, Lisa! ♥

PC #367: Cute kids from Czech Republic

Wow, everythin’ happened so fast. Look at me, I am now workin’! I’ll surely miss the university 🙂 The sad thing is, I will not be able to post long articles here. Probably just little comments and then the card and stamps. But then, I’m not givin’ up on this hobby.

So here’s an official card from Guliver of Ceska Republika. Cute little boys wearing I don’t know.. perhaps the typical boys’ wear in Czech Republic? What I like about this card is of course, the kids, all ready to go to school. I just don’t know if it’s propagandizing something..
